Concrete pouring work is currently underway for the box culvert being constructed near Lafto Hospital.
The Addis Ababa City Roads Authority has been conducting urgent box culvert construction near Lafto Hospital since July 11, 2026, to proactively prevent flooding risks.
For this purpose, the road leading from the Jemo 1 Traffic Light to the Jemo 3 Roundabout has been closed to traffic for 15 consecutive days.
Currently, foundation laying, steel reinforcement rebar fabrication, and concrete pouring work are underway, with intense efforts being made to quickly finish the remaining tasks and reopen the road to traffic.
Because the concrete construction requires time to strengthen, the Authority urges road users to maintain the cooperation they have shown so far.
